Men’s Singles
Carlos Alcraz pipped Novak Djokovic to reclaim the top spot in the rankings just during the Italian Open last week. With that, the 20-year old Spaniard is all set to lead the Men’s Singles Draw in this year’s French Open. It will be the first time that Alcaraz will enter a Grand Slam tournament as the top seed in his career.
Meanwhile, Daniil Medvedev rose up to World No.2 in the rankings following his Italian Open victory. With his win at Rome, he is also set to be the second seed in the tournament. Djokovic will be the third seed. It will only be the second time since 2010 that Djokovic will not be among the top two seeds.
The next two seeds will be Casper Ruud and Stefanos Tsitsipas. Both the payers will complete the Top 5 seedings in the Men’s Singles draw in the Grand Slam event this year.
Women’s Singles
Meanwhile in the Women’s Singles, there are no surprises as Iga Swiatek will be the top seed. She is however ursing a thigh injury and her fitness remains a concern. Meanwhile, Australian Open Champion Aryna Sabalenka will be the second seed in the draw.
Jeesica Pegula occupies the third spot in the seedings, while Elena Rybakina, who recently won the Italian Open will be the fourth seed in the tournament. The youngster from Kazakhstan, who is the reigning Wimbledon Champion has made it to the Top 4 in the World Rankings for the first time. Completing the Top 5 seeds will be Caroline Garcia.
