PSVR 2 pre orders work differently. Don’t worry, we’ll explain.

That’s right folks, Sony has finally announced the PSVR 2 pre order information. This comes from the same official blog post that confirmed the PSVR 2 price and PSVR 2 release date.
It was a bumper day for information, so now we’ve got plenty of pages to write about Sony’s upcoming VR powerhouse.
Unlike some recent launches like the Meta Quest Pro, the opportunity to pre order hasn’t been unceremoniously dumped on the general public. Instead, Sony has gone for an interesting PSVR 2 pre order strategy.
If you’re confused, don’t worry, dear reader, as we’ll explain everything you need to know about pre ordering your new PSVR 2.
When can I pre order the PSVR 2?
The PSVR 2 can be pre-ordered starting November 15th. However, it’s not as simple as just going to your favorite retailer and ordering it like you normally would. There appears to be a geographical component at play here.
If you’re based in the US, UK., France, Germany, Belgium, Netherlands, or Luxembourg, when November 15th comes around, you’ll only be able to get your PSVR 2 pre order at the official PlayStation online store.
If you’re based in a region that’s not on that list, when November 15th comes around, you’ll be able to get your PSVR 2 pre order from the normal retailers that you’d typically go to. However, specific retailers have not been announced yet.
We can’t say for certain, but we assume that buying directly from Sony allows them to keep more money from the purchase, so it’s no surprise that the official PlayStation store only services regions where the PlayStation brand is most popular.
Additionally, if you’re within the aforementioned list of countries, you can register for your very own PSVR 2 pre order.
This does not guarantee or reserve a PSVR 2 pre order, however, it just means you’ll get emailed as soon as pre orders are live.
Where to buy PSVR 2
Well, we’ve already covered the rather limited list of countries that Sony services directly. However, if you’re outside of the countries listed, you should be able to grab your PSVR 2 pre order from your regular retailer.
However, given that the original PSVR is still available on the likes of Amazon and Best Buy, we’re confident that the PSVR 2 will arrive at normal retailers for everyone at some point. So, here are a few links you might want to check here and there.
When does the PSVR 2 come out?
The PSVR 2 will release on the 22nd of February 2023.
