Red Bull driver and current World Champion Max Verstappen will look to extend his lead on top of the driver’s standings as Formula 1 heads to middle-east this weekend. Red Bull continued from where they left off as Verstappen and Sergio Perez grabbed the first two places in Podium at Bahrain.

At Bahrain, Mercedes drivers Lewis Hamilton and George Russell secured the 5th and 7th positions, respectively. The duo has already expressed their disappointment publicly with this season’s race car. Hamilton also claimed that his suggestions weren’t taken into account after a subpar performance last year. However, Mercedes will hope to regain their form and contend for the championship once again.

Williams’ driver Alex Albon had feared that their car would be slowest on the grid in Bahrain GP but as it turns out, the car did more than expected as Albon finished in tenth place. Logan Sargeant also looked very impressive on his debut. He was not too far behind Albon in his first F1 race. We can expect good competition from both drivers as Williams has a good record on straights.

Saudi Arabia GP: When was the track built?

Jeddah Corniche Circuit is a temporary street circuit that has some permanent sections in it. It is located on a Corniche, 30km coastal resort area of the ancient Saudi Arabian city of Jeddah. Meanwhile, it is designed by the Tilke company, which used Google Earth for their investigation into a potential layout.

Ross Brawn said, “What we want to see is a race circuit. We don’t want Mickey Mouse circuits. We don’t want those old classic street circuits with 90-degree turns. We want fast sweeping circuits, circuits that are going to challenge the drivers. And they are going to love it.”

When was its first Grand Prix?

The inaugural Saudi Arabia Grand Prix took place in 2021. However, the track has now joined its counterparts in Middle Eastern countries such as Bahrain and Abu Dhabi.
